West Fargo, ND – West Fargo fire officials say a construction worker almost instantly succumbed to carbon monoxide when he opened a trailer where a combustion pump was running.
It happened just after 11:00 Tuesday morning at a construction site in West Fargo where town homes are being built.
West Fargo Fire Chief Dan Fuller tells Valley News Live crews were spraying foam insulation, using a pump that was sealed up inside a trailer.
A worker opened that trailer, immediately lost consciousness and was found about 10 minutes later by another worker.
There have been a number of instances throughout the Valley this winter of people sickened and even dying because carbon monoxide poisoning.
It’s nicknamed the silent killer because of its odorless, tasteless properties and because it replaces the oxygen in your blood.
