New Albany, IN- Following a natural gas explosion a year ago that ruined a home and injured six people in New Albany, Ind., state utility regulators hit Vectren Corp. with a $100,000 fine Wednesday.
The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission said Vectren failed to follow procedures for proper drilling, notification and leak investigation during a gas line drilling, IndyStar.com reports. Gas leaked into a nearby home, causing it to explode. Five residents and a crew member were injured.
