Albuquerque, NM – The state is reporting a significant increase in carbon monoxide poisonings this month.
The Poison Center says it’s identified 28 cases since December 1. Carbon monoxide poisoning is most often the result of home heating sources like fireplaces, water heaters and generators.
Even stoves and ovens can produce carbon monoxide gas. Since carbon monoxide is odorless, it can be deadly.
Poison Control warns people to buy carbon monoxide detectors in their homes close to where they sleep.
Symptoms include headache, dizziness, aches and confusion.
