Mercer County, PA – Some residents at a senior living community in Mercer County had to be evacuated this afternoon following a carbon monoxide scare.
Firefighters were called to Fellowship Manor on Orchard Drive in Pine Township at around 11 a.m. on Saturday.
Officials say a power outage in the area caused the backup generator at the facility to kick on.
The backup generator started to fill the halls with smoke, according to firefighters.
They detected carbon monoxide and evacuated residents who were on the affected floors with the smoke and carbon monoxide presence.
Officials say no one was injured during the incident.
Firefighters were on scene for more than an hour to make sure the facility was safe before residents returned.
