Oklahoma City, OK – Back in January, the Walnut Creek neighborhood was hit hard by a gas explosion that decimated one home and damaged many others in the area.

Residents are still in the process of cleaning up, and getting claims handled from their insurance to deal with the damage.

Tonight, homeowners met with leaders from the Oklahoma City Council, Oklahoma Natural Gas, and the Corporation Commission to try and get some answers at a Town Hall meeting.

The corporation commission says the investigation is still ongoing, but ONG says the explosion was caused by a 3 inch crack in underground pipes that caused gas to quickly build up. They’re still not sure what in the home ignited the gas.

Meanwhile, ONG has dealt with dozens of insurance claims from residents. Some are concerned that their carriers aren’t doing enough because they need to prove the damage was caused by the explosion and not something else.

The Insurance Commission had staff on hand for residents to file complaints if needed.

There is no timetable for when the final results of the investigation will be complete.
