Sugar Camp, WI – A propane tank was likely the cause of a seasonal home explosion May 13 in the Oneida County town of Sugar Camp.
According to a news release, dispatch received a report early Friday morning of a man stating he had broken windows at his home.
When crews arrived on scene at 5078 Sand Lake Road the house was destroyed and there was a small fire in the basement.
Investigators said there was no one at the house at the time of the explosion. Five other homes in the neighborhood were also damaged with two receiving extensive damage.
The State Fire Marshall confirms the explosion was a gas vapor explosion. There have been no reported injuries due to the explosion.
Sugar Camp is located half way between Rhinelander and Eagle River.
