Readington Township, NJ – A resident reporting the smell of propane gas at 31 Goldfinch Lane this morning brought police, fire and rescue to the home.
Township police reported that the home was evacuated. A Ferrellgas employee responded and shut down the connection. Police said the problem appeared to have been caused by a pressure valve.
Readington and Three Bridges Fire and Whitehouse Rescue responded, in addition to police.
A Point Pleasant Beach man was badly burned early Monday when his house erupted in flames in a natural gas explosion. The explosion happened after he turned on a bathroom light. It was the second explosion from a natural gas leak at an Ocean County house within two weeks.
