Seminole, TX- EverythingLubbock.com has confirmed that a mother and an 18-month-old child were taken to University Medical Center early Tuesday evening by Aerocare.
The two had been the victim of a propane explosion in or near Seminole.Both were in critical condition.
The Gaines County Sheriff’s Department provided the following written statement Wednesday morning:
Tuesday September 15, 2015 at about 4:57 pm, Gaines County, Texas Sheriff’s Deputies, along with Seminole Fire Department, and Seminole EMS were dispatched to 126c County Road number 318-m in reference to a structure fire with injuries.
Upon an investigation it was determined that an explosion occurred inside the residence causing injury to two subjects. The two subjects were found to have been burned from the fire. Both subjects were air lifted to a hospital in Lubbock, Texas in critical condition.
The Texas State Fire Marshall’s office was contacted and an investigator with that office arrived on scene. This case is still under investigation by the State Fire Marshall’s office and the Gaines County Sheriff’s Office.
At this time the incident is under investigation, and no foul play is suspected.
