Havertown, PA – A two-story office building in Havertown was evacuated for over an hour early this afternoon for a carbon monoxide leak. The L&M Professional Center located at 31 S. Eagle Road near the intersection oF West Chester Pike and Eagle Road was quickly evacuated shortly before 1pm. A CO alarm in Domino’s Pizza on the first floor of the building alerted the presence of the colorless, odorless gas. Retail outlets on the first floor and business office on the second floor were notified by Police and Fire personnel to vacate the building in case the gas had leaked into the entire structure. Llannarch and Manoa firemen swept through the building trying to detect the gas while EMT personnel tested and treated employees for any possible CO exposure. Only a handful of people showed exposure to the gas and no one was seriously affected. The all-clear to return was given at about 2pm and people could reenter the building.
