DuQuoin, IL- The Illinois Fire Marshal says natural gas caused a deadly house explosion in Du Quoin (doo KOYN’) in southern Illinois.
WSIL-TV reports that fire investigators and representatives from Ameren and insurance companies collected evidence from the scene. The Sunday blast killed 83-year-old Harold A. Pundsack. The explosion damaged about a dozen homes in the area.
The fire marshal says there was a problem with a natural gas line. Investigators say they’re still trying to figure out exactly what went wrong.
