Quincy, IL –
A mother and her young daughter were taken to the hospital Monday after a carbon monoxide leak in their home.
Firefighters responded to 520 North 20th Street in Quincy around 10:45 a.m. when carbon monoxide detectors went off in the home.
Lt. Eric Smith said he was told by Ameren crews that the leak came from either the furnace or hot water heater.
A local heating and air company was brought in to fix the issue immediately.
Smith said the mother and daughter had slight symptoms consistent with carbon monoxide poisoning.
