Mayfield Township, MI – Rosenbo Cedillo, 73, of Mayfield Township, died early Friday morning as the result of accidental carbon monoxide poisoning.
Lapeer County Sheriff’s Dept. Andy Engster said Cedillo’s brother found him deceased on the kitchen floor after he failed to show up for work.
Lapeer County EMS and Lapeer Fire & Rescue were dispatched to the scene. The EMS crew was able to revive a small dog that was unconscious in the house. The dog was taken to a vet by a family member.
The Lapeer County Sheriff’s Dept. investigators discovered a generator in a closed, attached garage.
There were power cords going from the generator into the house. Cedillo had apparently set up the generator after a storm had knocked out electricity to his home.
Do not run a generator in your garage, Engster urged. Put it outside.
