Bourne, MA – One man died after being exposed to carbon monoxide in Sagamore, according to police.
Bourne police said officers responded to a report of an unresponsive 62-year-old man who was suffering from carbon monoxide exposure at RDA, Inc., a modular home business on Bluff Road.
The first officer at the scene located the man, identified as company owner Donald Shulman, inside the building near a gas-powered pressure washer that was running.
Officials said the carbon monoxide alarm was activated.
Shulman was taken to a hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.
The police officer who responded to the call was also taken to a hospital for evaluation due to the carbon monoxide exposure.
“I can’t tell you what a shock. I mean, I saw Don yesterday afternoon and that was it,” employee Bill D’Antonio said.
The District Attorney’s Office said it appears to be an accident, but an autopsy will be performed.
