Bixby, OK – First responders were at the scene of a home explosion in Leonard, near Bixby, Monday night.
It happened around East 168th Street and South 157th East Ave. Fire officials said they first received reports about the explosion at 6:30 p.m. When Bixby firefighters arrived they said a multi-story house had been blown apart.
No one was home at the time and no injuries were reported.
FOX23’s Jackie DelPIlar and Sara Hart spoke with the fire chief at the scene.
Investigators could be there a while determining the cause of the explosion. Officials said there are propane tanks in the area and that could be a possibility.
Fire marshals said the homeowner installed a “used” heater a few hours before the explosion. The investigation is still underway.
