Boulder County, CO – There was a house explosion in Boulder County in the 6000 block of Indian Road Friday morning.

The explosion happened at 3:57 a.m.

Firefighters from Rocky Mountain Fire, Boulder Rural Fire, Boulder Emergency Services, Boulder County Emergency Services and Boulder County Sheriff’s Deputies all responded to 6027 Indian Rd.

When they arrived, they found the house was completely collapsed from the explosion.

It is unknown at this time what caused the explosion. Witnesses had reported there was a strong odor of natural gas in the area on Thursday, and there was work being performed at the house around 5 p.m. on Thursday also. The fire is being investigated by the Multi-Agency Fire Investigation Team.

Neighbors said the house is a rental property and has been unoccupied for a year.

There were no injuries reported and no flames were visible after the explosion. No surrounding homes were damaged.
