Lake Delton, WI – A carbon monoxide leak in a Delton hotel sends nine people to the hospital and forces the evacuation of the entire hotel, according to a news release sent by the Delton Fire Dept.

Early Saturday morning several people inside the Travel Lodge Hotel in Lake Delton began feeling sick. An employee was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee where high levels of carbon monoxide were found in his blood.

The fire department tested the air inside the hotel and found high levels of carbon monoxide. Several guests and employees told first responders they were feeling sick. Eight of those people were taken to hospitals.

Because of the danger the entire hotel was evacuated. Twelve employees were in the hotel and 43 guest rooms were being used. The Salvation Army helped those people find a place to stay.

The hotel, located on West Munroe Ave., is closed pending more investigation.
