Detroit, MI – Four Detroit firefighters who were extinguishing a blaze at a house when it exploded are recovering from minor injuries.
Executive Fire Commissioner Donald Austin told the Detroit Free Press the firefighters were treated at a hospital for minor burns and cuts following the explosion about 9 p.m. Thursday. He said the firefighters are expected to be OK.
Austin said the cause of the explosion appears to be a natural gas leak, though the case remains under investigation. Austin said he believes the house was vacant.
