Wilmington, NC – Wilmington fire crews have cleared the scene of a carbon monoxide leak at CFCC’s downtown campus.

The Wilmington Fire Department said the call came in at 10:33 p.m. Tuesday. It happened at the community college’s Union Station.

They say a problem with a boiler caused the leak. Officials believe it is an issue with ventilation, rather than a malfunction with the boiler. Fire officials said there were non-dangerous levels of carbon monoxide in the building.

Crews were on the scene after 11 p.m., bringing fans into the building to help air the gas out.

The building is now clear and ready to be used in the morning.
