Reno, NV – There were brief voluntary evacuations at the Riverboat Hotel apartment complex on N. Sierra St. and W. 2nd St. in Reno, following a carbon monoxide leak early Tuesday.

According to the Reno Fire Department, a carbon monoxide alarm alerted them of the leak just before 1:30 a.m. June 19, 2018. Crews say a faulty boiler is to blame, and NV Energy locked the gas out until the unit can be repaired. The utility is working with the property owner to make sure repairs are done.

Fire crews went floor to floor checking the levels, which they say were not high enough to force an evacuation, but they checked on residents as a precaution. There are no reports of medical issues as a result of the leak.
