Rochester, MN – A carbon monoxide leak Wednesday afternoon forced a family to evacuate their Rochester home.
It happened at about 4:30 p.m. at 4523 21st Avenue NW.
The Rochester Fire Department says the family reported a strange odor to Minnesota Energy Resources, which then called the fire department.
Gold Cross examined the family–two parents, a child, and an infant–as a precaution.
The fire department and the gas company both detected unsafe levels of the gas.
Firefighters ventilated the home and were working to determine the cause of the leak and whether the family could safely return home for the night.
