Lycoming, PA – A home was leveled in a possible gas explosion in Lycoming County.

The Red Cross of Greater PA tweeted that volunteers were assisting crews at an explosion in the 300 block of Middle Road in Oval, Lycoming County.

ABC WNEP reported the explosion happened just before 6 p.m. and quoted Nippennose Valley Fire Chief Dean Miller as saying the home was leveled when crews first arrived.

Two people were at the home at the time of the explosion and suffered moderate to severe injuries, Miller told the station. The couple were taken to Williamsport Hospital.

The fire marshal is investigating, but Miller told the station they believe the explosion was caused by a propane tank leak.
