Duffee, MS – A major propane explosion took place in the Duffee community last night around 7 pm killing the two residents in the home at the time where the explosion occurred. People reported hearing the explosion several miles away.

“I came down here and the house was already on the ground, it was a propane explosion and we had the loss of two lives that are related to most of us in the fire department so it is a very tragic event”, said Irven Skinner, Duffee assistant Fire Chief.

Thunderous vibrations were felt by nearby neighbors as the force of the blast shattered windows in nearby residents’ homes. People were shaken up by the explosion which has left many asking questions.

“He had been to the hardware store to pick up some parts for his gas logs and we noticed the propane tank was still on,” Skinner explained.
