Dayton, OH – Some Dayton residents say they are fed up with a huge pile of debris that is still in the neighborhood after a natural gas explosion leveled a homeback in April. The blast was so strong another home right beside it had to be torn down too.
The home at 515 Brooklyn Avenue shook an entire city block when it exploded on April 21, blowing wood shards, bricks and lots of other garbage up and down the street.More than 50 other homes were damaged too.
Longtime Westwood resident Kortney Jeter says she called the City of Dayton for two weeks before finally getting a response. City officials told her the home’s owner is responsible for the cleanup and they plan to contact him. Montgomery County real estate records say Daniel Brown is the owner.
We attempted to contact him but got no response. Jeter says the property just needs to be cleaned up as soon as possible. She worries some neighborhood kids could get hurt playing in the area.
