Meeker, CO – Moffat County authorities say one hunter has died and two have been taken to a hospital in a suspected case of carbon monoxide poisoning in northwestern Colorado.

The Craig Daily Press reports (http://tinyurl.com/o4gkgkm ) the hunters were found in a tent Sunday.

Moffat County Sheriff’s Lt. KC Hume says investigators believe the men might have been exposed to carbon monoxide from an unspecified heat source.

All were from out of state but their names haven’t been released. The two who survived were taken to The Memorial Hospital in Craig.

The sheriff’s department is investigating.

The hunters were camping a mile north of Meeker, about 150 miles west of Denver.
