Plymouth, MA – PLYMOUTH – Three people, including two young children, were taken to the hospital after a carbon monoxide incident at their Justine Road home. The three were transported to Beth Israel-Plymouth around 9 a.m. by Brewster EMS.

According to Brewster EMS Supervisor Jeff Jacobson, the home was filled with high levels of carbon monoxide caused by a running car parked near a snow bank by the home.

Properly operating monitors are credited with alerting the occupants of the home to the rising levels of carbon monoxide. The unidentified adult who was taken to the hospital reported feeling nauseated, Jacobson said.

Symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning include headache, nausea, dizziness, confusion and fainting, according to carbon monoxide safety information from the Massachusetts Fire Marshal’s Office. Should you suspect carbon monoxide exposure in your home, get outside in fresh air immediately.
