Lincoln, NE – Two Lincoln residents are luckily to be alive after carbon monoxide leaks into their home.
The residents awoke with a headache Thursday morning and decided to go to the hospital.
They called Lincoln Fire and Rescue, who responded to the home at 2810 Northwest 9th Street around 10:30.
They discovered low-levels of the gas inside the home.
Black Hills Energy responded, but it now looks like a car running outside the home may be to blame. Officials say the door was open and the wind may have been blowing the gas into the house.
Carbon Monoxide is a colorless, odorless gas which is potentially deadly to humans and animals.
