Hope, AR – HOPE – Suspected carbon monoxide poisoning sent three people to a local hospital early Sunday morning.

Pafford EMS units and the Hempstead County Sheriff’s department responded to the scene in the 4200 block of State Highway 67 West at approximately 3:50 a.m. Sunday.

Centerpoint Energy was requested by HCSO upon arrival. Pafford EMS was able to treat two people at the scene, but transported three additional patients to Wadley Hope.

Air temperature at the time of the call was 32 degrees.

Carbon monoxide, or CO, is an odorless, colorless gas that can kill you. It is found in fumes produced anytime you burn fuel, including in stoves, furnaces, gas ranges or fireplaces. CO can build up indoors and poison people and animals who breathe it.
