Reading, PA – One person was taken to the hospital following a carbon monoxide leak in Reading. It happened around 9:30 p.m. Saturday in a nine-unit apartment complex at 200 North 11th Street.
Fire crews responded to the scene and proceeded to call UGI, according to a UGI spokesperson.
UGI officials say the leak was caused by a woman running unsafe equipment that was not properly maintained. The building was temporarily evacuated while crews fixed the problem.
The woman who was not feeling well was taken to an area hospital for evaluation and has since been released.
No other injuries were reported and carbon monoxide readings have stabilized.
