Lincoln, NE – High carbon monoxide levels caused the evacuation of Lincoln Manor residents Wednesday morning, a Black Hills Energy spokesperson said.

The residents of the assisted living facility at 2626 N. 49th St. were taken to nearby First United Methodist Church while Lincoln firefighters ventilated the building, Brandy Johnson said.

A Black Hills Energy technician arrived at the scene shortly after 8:30 a.m., she said. The carbon monoxide leak was caused by faulty heating equipment, which was being repaired by a private contractor.

There were no reports of injuries, Johnson said.

Manor residents were allowed back in around 10:30 a.m., said battalion chief Tim Linke.
