Huntsville, AL – Seven people have been taken to the hospital for observation after a carbon monoxide leak was discovered this morning at Redstone Arsenal’s Fox Army Health Center in Huntsville.
Redstone firefighters confirmed elevated levels of carbon monoxide at the center when they responded to an alarm shortly before 8 a.m., said Assistant Chief Robert Simmons.
Initially four people were sent to the hospital, but the center reopened for a short time and three more people were transported, Garrison spokesman Chris Colster said.
The center now is closed for the day.
Simmons said crews are still working to determine the cause of the incident.
Further details were not immediately available.
