Casper, WY – Black Hills Energy crews responded to the scene of a house explosion on Monday, Sept. 2 in Casper.

The explosion occurred in the afternoon on Labor Day at a residence on the 3800 block of Plateau Place.

No injuries associated with the explosion have been reported. Multiple homes in the areas were damaged by the explosion.

While the cause of the explosion is still under investigation, Casper Police officials said on Monday that it likely involved gas lines.

“Upon arrival, crews shut off natural gas service to the structure and surrounding areas, and performed safety measures in the area,” said Michael Howe, Black Hills community affairs manager.

“A thorough investigation will be conducted and Black Hills Energy will work with all appropriate agencies to determine the cause of this incident.”
