Hadden Heights, NJ – HADDON HEIGHTS — A natural gas leak likely caused the explosion Saturday afternoon in a borough house that left a woman in critical condition, authorities said on Sunday.

According to a release by the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, there is no indication that the explosion and resulting fire to the home at 101 White Horse Pike was intentional.

Prosecutor’s Office spokesman Jason Laughlin said investigators will return to the scene Monday, as the fire is still under investigation.

The woman in critical condition suffered extensive burns, according to initial reports, and was taken to Crozer Chester Hospital. Authorities did not specify injuries to the second victim.

The fire reported around 3:45 p.m. engulfed the house that contained five apartments. According to tax records, the house was built in 1920, and the current owners reside in Moorestown.
