Napa, CA – An 8-year-old girl from Burlingame was pulled out of Lake Berryessa at about 11:55 a.m. Tuesday after breathing carbon monoxide fumes from an idling ski boat, according to the Napa County Sheriff’s Office.

The girl reportedly either lost consciousness — or came close to losing consciousness — after breathing carbon monoxide near Markley Cove, County Sheriff’s Capt. Tracey Stuart said.

Her father looked back and saw the girl had tumbled into the water. He immediately pulled her out, Stuart said.

Medical personnel checked the girl at the scene before releasing her to her family, she said.

The girl was wearing a flotation device, Stuart said.
