Cassadaga, NY – CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY — Investigators determined a natural gas leak in the basement of a Cassadaga, N.Y., home caused an explosion Sunday morning, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office said.

Fire departments were called to the home in the 3000 block of Bernard Road in Cassadaga, N.Y., at 10:51 a.m. for an explosion, and arrived to find the house in flames.

The people inside the house were able to escape and suffered only minor injuries, officials said. They were taken to nearby hospitals.
