Lamar County, TX – A family’s home was flattened after multiple explosions early Sunday morning.

Lamar County Emergency Management Coordinator Quincy Blount said the Faught Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the residence six miles northeast of Paris shortly after 6 a.m.

Blount said the call to an address on Private Road 42495 came from the homeowner’s son after he heard an initial blast.

After he made that call, there was a second explosion.

Officials said a propane gas leak could be responsible, but an investigation by the state fire marshal’s office will make the final determination.

Faught VFD said no one was home at the time of the blast, and no one was injured.

Faught firefighters received assistance from the Reno, Novice, Hopewell, Lamar Point, Deport, Roxton, and Brookston departments. Paris EMS and the American Red Cross also responded to the scene.
