Foxboro, MA – Two people were taken to the hospital as a precaution following high levels of carbon monoxide found in a home Friday afternoon.

A call came in about 4:40 p.m. about a person not feeling well at 49 Cedar St.

A Mansfield ambulance responded as Foxboro firefighters were busy with other calls and determined a high level of carbon monoxide was present in the home, the fire department said.

Foxboro firefighters soon arrived, and two people were taken by Foxboro and Mansfield ambulances to Norwood Hospital, the department said.

The cause was traced to a malfunction of a gas appliance in the basement.

Columbia Gas and the town’s plumbing inspector also responded to the home.
