Washington, DC – Nine people were taken to the hospital because of a Carbon Monoxide incident at a boarding house in D.C. on Sunday according to authorities.
The D.C. Fire Department say that at around 7:09 a.m. they were called to the scene where high levels of carbon monoxide were found in the three-story house in the 500 block of U Street, NW.
Nine occupants were all taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries from carbon monoxide exposure.
The gas in the house was shut off and the home was ventilated, officials say.
Fire officials say the source of the carbon monoxide was the furnace.
