Tomahawk, WI – The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department is urging hunters to have working carbon monoxide detectors in cabins and hunting shacks after a couple became ill due to dangerously high levels at property late last week.
Deputies said the morning of Oct. 26, first responders transported a woman to a nearby hospital from a property in the Town of Skanawan, west of Tomahawk. A short time later the woman’s husband arrived at the hospital. Doctors found both had dangerous levels of carbon monoxide in their system.
Tomahawk firefighters and a deputy responded to the residence and found lethal levels of the carbon monoxide inside of the residence.
