New York, NY – A woman found her elderly parents dead in their Manhattan apartment early Sunday and carbon monoxide poisoning is suspected in their deaths.

‘I thought she was sleeping but she was not breathing so I knew she was dead too’.
The FDNY ventilated and searched the building to ensure no other residents had been succumbed to the gas, said Deputy Chief James Coyne. It is still not clear why carbon monoxide filled the apartment.
When she could try to help somebody, that’s the way she was, she said.
When they arrived, their carbon monoxide detectors immediately went off. Jadoris was 71, and John was 80.
Rita said she became nervous when several attempts to reach her parents by phone Sunday morning went unanswered, prompting her and husband, Gary McFadden, to stop by their apartment. The couple belongs to East Ward Baptist Church just up the block.
Friends of the elderly couple tell us they were active in their church. They were both saved, so I know they’re at peace with the Lord Jesus, she says.
