Poulsbo, WA – Emergency crews have responded to Poulsbo Middle School after receiving reports that some students have become ill with suspected carbon monoxide poisoning.

Jody Matson of the Poulsbo Fire Department said a nurse called for the emergency response after several students began displaying symptoms of carbon monoxide exposure.

The school district said 14 students had mild headaches. And most of those when home but a few did stay at school.

About 50 students were evaluated as a precaution.

Firefighters did not find elevated levels of carbon monoxide in the two rooms where students got ill — an art room and a tech room.
