Fairbanks, AK – A propane leak was responsible for a blast that injured five people Sunday evening at a Fairbanks home, the Alaska Department of Public Safety said.
The patients were all taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital from the Rosie Creek Road residence after the explosion, which was first reported at about 5:35 p.m. Sunday, DPS spokeswoman Megan Peters said in a dispatch posted online.
“The explosion resulted in some serious and potentially life-threatening injuries to a couple people involved,” Peters wrote.
No fire was reported as a result of the blast, which is being investigated by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
