Dover, DE – Medical staff at the Morris Community Corrections Center in Dover have identified several offenders as displaying symptoms of possible carbon monoxide poisoning.

According to Department of Correction spokeswoman Chelsea Hicks, a number of offenders have been taken to the Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital emergency room for treatment. As a precautionary measure, Kent County EMS has been activated.

The Dover Fire Department was called to the scene at about 10:10 a.m. after receiving reports of individuals having problems breathing.

Located at 300 Water Street, the MCCC is home to up to 150 people and specializes in housing substance abuse treatment patients and work release offenders.
