Gulfport, MS – Nobody was hurt including four small dogs after a natural gas explosion blew the roof and one wall off a Gulfport rental home.
Gulfport Fire Chief Mike Beyerstedt tells local media the explosion occurred shortly before noon on Wednesday and started in the attic.
He says there was no wall of flames, but a lot of smoke. The house sustained “extensive damage.”
Resident Laporsha Simmons and her three children were away from the home when the explosion occurred. Firefighters safely removed four dogs that were in the house at the time of the explosion.
