Highspire, PA – One person died and two others suffered injuries Saturday afternoon in a carbon monoxide poisoning in Highspire, Dauphin County.
According to the Highspire Police Department, dispatch received a 911 call from a home at 240 Walnut St. around 3:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found multiple victims suffering from apparent carbon monoxide poisoning.
Police say the three adult victims are a father, daughter and the daughter’s fiance. They were all living in the home together.
A 66-year-old man is deceased. He was the father in the household. His autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
One victim is in critical condition and another is in fair condition. Those victims are receiving treatment at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center.
Officials tested the air levels in the house and found that the carbon monoxide level was high. They are not sure where the leak is coming from.
Utility officials from UGI were on scene.
At the hospital, one of the victims said there was some work being done on the house in the past couple of days which may have caused the leak.
