Tyler, TX – A Tyler business has closed for the rest of the day after a report of high carbon monoxide levels led to an evacuation.
Tyler Fire Department firefighters were called Monday afternoon to Workforce Solutions East Texas on Troup Highway. When firefighters arrived, they determined that there were high levels of carbon monoxidein the building and the office was evacuated.
TFD says the increased levels of the gas were a result of construction in the building. Crews were using a gas-powered tool to remodel the floors. TFD says they will switch to an electric-powered tool.
The company decided to close for the remainder of the day and is expected to reopen tomorrow. No one was injured in the incident.
