Middleburg Heights, OH- MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS — The fire department was called to the Aldi’s at 18324 Bagley Road for a possible carbon monoxide leak.
An Aldi’s spokesman released the following statement regarding the incident:
“The ALDI store located at 18324 Bagley Road in Middleburg Heights was temporarily closed on August 21 due to an unusually high level of carbon monoxide. ALDI immediately contacted the Middleburg Heights Fire Department to address the situation. Out of an abundance of caution, and for the safety of our employees and customers, the store remained closed until the building was deemed safe by the fire department.
At 9:55 a.m. Friday, the Middleburg Heights Fire Department was dispatched to Aldi’s for the possibility of carbon monoxide in the store.
Upon arrival, it was determined that abnormal levels of carbon monoxide were detected and the store was evacuated.
Four people were taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
The incident is currently under investigation.
