Blair County, PA – A medical call for a diabetic emergency in Blair County Tuesday ended up saving more lives than just one.
EMS and fire crews were called to the Hoss’s Restaurant in Blair Township at around 5 p.m. Tuesday when the meters on their first aid kits went off for a carbon monoxide detection.
The fire chief said they found high levels of the odorless toxin in the kitchen. Crews evacuated the restaurant and two people were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
We found a couple gas appliances that weren’t properly burning, emitting some high levels of [carbon monoxide], said Phoenix Fire Chief Tony Dibona. Maintenance on scene took care of those issues. The levels dropped and were back to satisfactory level.
The restaurant was closed after the incident Monday, but will be reopened Wednesday.
