Erie, PA – The local fire chief says a propane leak is suspected of causing an explosion and fire that leveled a three-story home in northwestern Pennsylvania.
McKean Hose Co. Chief Jim Pyle tells the Erie Times-News that a state police fire marshal and other crews were continuing to dig for clues to the exact cause.
The home in McKean Township was engulfed in flames when crews arrived just before 6 a.m. Thursday.
All three people who live in the home escaped without injuries.
One was showering and two others were sleeping when the explosion occurred.
The township is about 120 miles north of Pittsburgh.
