Hope, AR – HOPE Carbon monoxide poisoning has been ruled as the cause of death of Anthony Azlin, 44, of Etta, MS.
According to a release from the Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office, the sheriff’s department was notified Friday, Feb. 20, about the cause of death.
When deputies arrived at the weight scales on I-30 East Tuesday, they noticed a portable generator mounted under the sleeper section of the cab. The generator, according to the report, was running at the time and apparently had been since the truck had been parked overnight.
Deputies checked into the situation after getting a call from Doug Lafferty, an officer with the Highway Police, who reported a driver being unresponsive in his truck. Lafferty had received a call from Azlin’s father asking about his son who had stopped at the scales on Monday night.
