Kingston, NH – A Kingston child was taken to the hospital Friday due to a carbon monoxide leak.
At about 7 p.m., fire officials responded to a home on Harvest Drive for a high carbon monoxide count. The family living in the home had just moved in and tried the stove for the first time. As soon as they were done cooking, the carbon monoxide detector went off.
The fire department detected a high count of 85 parts per million in the kitchen. Fire officials ventilated the home and evaluated the couple’s 2-year-old son. He had higher levels in his blood and poison control suggested that he be taken to the hospital.
He was transported to Children’s Hospital in Boston, but was not showing any signs of poisoning.
